Healthy bacteria are essential for good compost, and a well-aerated environment in which bacteria can thrive is imperative.
The Compost-Air has been designed to encourage air flow around the walls, thanks to the various holes on the tip of each cone, but also through the unique air tube on the base. This air tube allows air to flow under the compost.
These elements will help the compost rot and create quality compost very quickly.
Compost created with Compost-Air only needs to be mixed occasionally!
How do you make compost?
First of all, you need to understand what makes a good compost mixture, and to do this you need three important basics:
Now you can get to work on composing your compost:
First place a layer of brown material at the bottom of the Air-Compost, then a layer of green material and mix lightly.
Make sure you also add micro-organisms to speed up the composting process.
Once the Compost-Air is full and various layers of material have been added, cover it with the lid provided.
Be sure to check the moisture content and add water if necessary. Too much water creates a soggy mixture, and too much air dries out the materials.
Remember to check that the air tube at the bottom is clear of debris for optimum aeration.
