Zeolite is a volcanic rock with high agronomic potential. Zeolites have excellent cation exchange capacity (CEC), and are comparable to nutrient reservoirs, protecting them from leaching and releasing them for plant uptake.

Uses:

• In agriculture, Zeolite acts as a cation, micro-life, trace element and water retaining agent. Widely used for growing bonsai cacti and arid plants, as a substrate on its own.

• In aquariums, the micro-cavities that structure this rock provide ideal shelter for the proliferation of beneficial aquatic bacteria, while regulating nitrate levels.

• For water filtration (e.g. swimming pools), Zeolite offers a major advantage over conventional filtration agents such as sand. Sand has a filtration fineness of 40µ, whereas zeolite filters down to 5µ. Moreover, zeolite has excellent filtration capacity for heavy metals.

Granulometry ranges from 0.7 to 2 mm.
